About Urrora
Our purpose is not to ask you to trust us more.
It is to reduce the amount of trust you have to place in anyone. Technology increasingly depends on trust: in software, infrastructure, identities, providers and data. Where trust can’t be removed, it should be visible, measurable and earned.
Mission
Reduce unnecessary trust through thoughtful engineering, while improving the security, resilience and freedom of the people and organisations we serve.
Vision
An enduring technology company, recognised not only for the products it builds, but for the way it thinks.
Principles
How we build.
Trust should be earned through architecture
Remove unnecessary trust wherever possible. Where it remains, make it transparent, justified and earned.
Challenge assumptions
If something exists only because it always has, it deserves to be examined.
Simplicity is strength
Complexity creates cost, risk and attack surface. Build the simplest thing that solves the real problem.
Design for resilience
Remove single points of failure in technology, products, knowledge and people.
Build for the long term
Trust compounds over time. So does reputation.
Tell the truth
Never exaggerate, never overstate, never promise what can’t be demonstrated.
The best idea wins
Good ideas don’t belong to job titles. Evidence outweighs hierarchy.
Learn continuously
Every deployment, customer, success and mistake should improve the company.
Leave things better than we found them
Technology, documentation, customers, communities.
Technology exists to serve people
We build products because they solve meaningful problems, not because they are interesting to engineer.
The Urrora test
Every important decision is checked against six questions.
- Have we reached the underlying assumption?
- Does this reduce unnecessary trust?
- Does this strengthen long-term resilience?
- Does this solve the real problem rather than the inherited implementation?
- Does this leave people, technology or society better than we found them?
- Would we still be proud of this decision many years from now?
Honesty
Claims you won’t hear from us.
- Unhackable
- Quantum-proof
- Zero plaintext exposure
- Zero changes required
- Performance figures we haven’t measured
- Certifications we don’t hold
We use recognised, independently scrutinised cryptography. Independent architecture review and penetration testing are part of our path to v1.0, and a company selling trust infrastructure has to hold its own security to the same standard it asks of customers.
